15 Opening Models at 2014 Spring/Summer
Who is that girl ? Every seasons, obscure opening girls in fashion week made us talk about, mainly in Prada, Calvin Klein, Alexander Wang, etc...
But it changed in this season, 15 maisons which has fame that models adore as great careers introduced obscure models as opening. Even in Gucci casting, it's very difficult for new faces, requiring experiences, or peculiar popularity. Oppositely, Prada cast Amanda Murphy as opening girl again following 2013AW. I don't know that means investing new stars in future, or something more unpredictable moves.
あのモデルはだれ？毎シーズン口走ってしまうこの言葉は主にPrada, Calvin Klein, Alexander Wangなどでしか聞こえてこないものでした。しかし、それは今回ですっかり変わってしまい、１５人の名も無き新人モデル達がランウェイデビューを果たしました。Gucciのキャスティングは新人モデルには敷居が高く、ある程度のキャリアや話題性が必要とされましたが、そのGucciですら今回Amanda Wellshをオープニングモデルとして登場させました。
そして一番の注目を集めるPradaはなんとAmanda Morphyを再びオープニングとして登場させるという、今回の流れに逆らうかのようなキャスティングに。 今後の主役となるべきモデル達に対する投資なのか、予想の範疇を超えることが起きているのか。今後の動き、特にAdには注目したいですね。
